cakes, cakes, cakes...

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone for showing such interest in my cakes. I have only been doing this for about two years, so really I feel like such an infant in the decorating world...I know I have SOOOO much more to learn. These are from the last two years...I hope to have some newer pictures to share in the next few weeks. Thanks for looking and for all the great encouragement!

This was my VERY first cake...long before any classes! HAHA

My first cupcake cake, before I started classes...just free hand

also prior to classes

had just started classes, and was learning how to use certain decorating tips and how to make borders and flowers

After learning how to do pattern transfers

I practiced transfers a lot...

then we started a trend...mini cakes for the birthday person
More mini cakes

mini cake that matches the big cake

or, cupcakes that match

one of my first fondant class cakes

fondant cake final

fondant roses and basket weave
just playing with fondant, making characters

more characters and matching mini cake
my first barbie cake with matching cupcakes

lately, we have been doing a mini cake for the birthday boy or girl, and matching cupcakes...easier to hand out at parties!

and, last but not least...these are my most FAVORITE ever...they turned out better than I expected.

Wow!! Love the look of fondant. What does it taste like? Are you supposed to eat it?

I don't like fondant. I think it tastes kinda like circus peanuts. Some people eat it, but most just peel it off. It's kinda wasteful, but it sure is cool to work with.

WOW! I am with Sheri - those are amazing! I like the fondant too! The box looking cake with the ribbon is my favorite. Looks just like a present!
